Dashen Bank successfully concluded its six-month-long 30th Anniversary Celebration with a grand closing ceremony held at the Sheraton Addis Hotel, marking three decades of excellence, innovation, and contribution to Ethiopiaโs banking industry.
The event brought together senior government officials, including the Governor of the National Bank of Ethiopia, H.E. Eyob Tekalign (PhD), members of Dashen Bankโs Board of Directors, executives of financial institutions, representatives of partner organizations, media leaders, customers, and distinguished guests.
Since January 2026, Dashen Bank has commemorated its 30th anniversary through a series of impactful programs and initiatives designed to celebrate its achievements and engage customers and stakeholders. Major activities included the Dashen Bank 30th Anniversary Expo, Innovation Month, Womenโs Empowerment Programs, customer appreciation campaigns, and various community engagement initiatives.
During the colorful ceremony held at the Sheraton Addis Hotel, His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed Hussein Al Amoudi was honored with a special recognition and commemorative award in appreciation of his invaluable contribution to the establishment and growth of Dashen Bank. The event also featured the recognition of Dashen Bank’s 11 visionary founders, former Board of Directors and Board Members, former Chief Executive Officers, partner organizations, long-standing customers, and executives and employees whose dedication and service have contributed significantly to the Bank’s success over the past three decades.
As part of its longstanding commitment to corporate social responsibility, Dashen Bank announced a financial contribution of ETB 30 million to the Deborah Foundation, a charitable organization dedicated to empowering children and individuals with Down syndrome through education, vocational training, and rehabilitation services.
The contribution reflects Dashen Bankโs commitment to creating a positive social impact and supporting vulnerable communities. Through this support, the Bank aims to contribute to addressing the challenges faced by people with Down syndrome and to encourage greater awareness and engagement in this often-overlooked area.
The celebration also featured the grand prize award ceremony for the Dashen Super App โDashen Edilโ a popular gamified loyalty and lottery program, through which customers had the opportunity to win prizes worth up to ETB 30 million. The campaign concluded with the presentation of a brand-new BYD Seagull electric vehicle to the lucky grand prize winner
