Dubai, UAE β Dashen Bank S.C., one of Ethiopiaβs leading financial institutions, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ethio VIP Events Management to deepen diaspora engagement and enhance compliant remittance channels. The signing ceremony took place in Dubai on September 16, 2025.
The MoU was signed by Mr. Elias Hussien, Chief Corporate Banking Officer of Dashen Bank, and Mr. Mages Abdulkafur, Co-Founder and CEO of Ethio VIP Events Management.
Through this partnership, Dashen Bank and Ethio VIP will mobilize the Ethiopian diaspora community in the UAE by promoting financial inclusion, encouraging the use of regulated remittance channels, and creating opportunities for savings and investment. Ethio VIP, a prominent events management company with strong ties to the Ethiopian community, will collaborate with Dashen Bank in organizing co-branded community and business events, financial literacy programs, and outreach initiatives.
Speaking at the ceremony, representatives of both institutions underscored the importance of the collaboration. Dashen Bank reaffirmed its commitment to offering innovative and regulated banking solutions that empower the diaspora while contributing to Ethiopiaβs economic growth. Ethio VIP highlighted its role in connecting the Bank with diaspora associations, business leaders, and influencers to maximize impact in the UAE.
The MoU further outlines joint efforts to identify and onboard compliant remittance agents in line with UAE Central Bank and National Bank of Ethiopia regulations, ensuring secure, transparent, and efficient financial flows. Both parties will also work in close coordination with the Ethiopian Embassy and diaspora associations to strengthen outreach and build trust.
