AWiB Recognizes Dashen Bank for Advancing Women’s Empowerment
Dashen Bank has been recognized by the Association of Women in Boldness (AWiB), a local organization dedicated to promoting women’s leadership and professional development, for its continued commitment and contributions to women’s empowerment.
The recognition was presented during the AWiB May Forum held at the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, where Dashen Bank Chief People Officer, Hewate Kefelegn, accepted the award for the bank’s longstanding partnership and support toward empowering women.
Speaking at the event, AWiB Founder and Executive Director, Nahu Senay Girma, commended Dashen Bank for its consistent efforts in supporting women employees through leadership and capacity-building initiatives. She also expressed appreciation for the bank’s valuable contribution in advancing AWiB’s mission.
Hewate Kefelegn stated that AWiB organizes annual and seasonal forums aimed at educating and inspiring women to pursue leadership positions, noting that Dashen Bank was recognized for its active partnership in supporting these programs.
She further highlighted that Dashen Bank has been collaborating with AWiB for the past 13 years, with many female leaders and employees of the bank participating in various AWiB forums and development programs.
According to Hewate, the partnership has played a significant role in enhancing women’s participation in leadership and strengthening their confidence, courage, and professional growth.
