Dashen Bank Rises in Ranking of Top 100 African Banks for 2025

Dashen Bank has significantly improved its position in the ranking of the top 100 African banks. According to the latest report by African Business Magazine, which evaluates banks based on various criteria, Dashen Bank has ascended from 87th place in 2024 to 71st in the 2025 list.

With this new ranking, Dashen Bank stands as the second-highest among four Ethiopian private banks featured in the top 100.

The ranking also highlights the growing influence of East African banks, with 21 institutions from the region making the list. Ethiopia is represented by a total of six banks, showcasing the country’s expanding financial landscape and competitive banking sector.
