Dashen measures its success not only in terms of financial criteria, but also in building customer satisfaction and employee engagement, and supporting the communities it operates in.  Dashen Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is fully integrated into the Bank’s core values. The Bank spends millions of Birr every year to support national and local development initiatives.

Recent CSR Engagements:-

1. Dashen Bank, in collaboration with Midroc Investment Group, has built four feeding centres (three in Addis Ababa in localities known as American Gibi, Geja Sefer and Lemi Kura, and one in Somali Region, Jigjiga city) for the needy and these centres are currently feeding thousands of people.

2. Dashen Bank has pledged to avail sharia complaint Quard-Al-Hassan financing (free cost loan) worth 100 million birr to finance businesses engaged in micro and small scale sectors in Somali Regional State.

3. The Bank has built a primary and secondary school in Amhara Region, North Gonder zone, Beyeda District, on the occasion of celebrating its 25th anniversary.

4. Dashen also has pledged to cover tuition fee for college students in Gambella Region, one of the least developed regions in the country.

5. The bank also has pledged to provide 25-million-birr loan with low interest rate for microfinance institutions in Gambella Region aiming to create access to finance for micro and small scale businesses.6. Dashen Bank’s staff has been planting indigenous seedlings on the hills of Mount Entoto, in the outskirts of Addis Ababa, as part of its effort to contribute its share in environmental protection. The Bank also is a member of the Ethiopian Heritage Trust, a local NGO engaged in environmental protection and preservation.

6. Dashen Bank is a member of the Ethiopian Red Cross Society and has partnered with the society in various humanitarian interventions in different areas of the country.

7. Dashen Bank has partnered and is working with Prologue Marketing PLC to promote Art and culture through display, visit and other ways of art and culture works both to the national and international community.

9. Dashen Bank has prepared an entrepreneurship contest that has participated thousands youth from different corners of the country in two phases. The third phase contest is to be commenced soon and this contest is contributing its share to the national effort to address unemployment.

10. Dashen Bank also has partnered with INKOMOKO, an international NGO that provides business coaching, and affordable financing for entrepreneurs who have been forcibly displaced and local businesses in the host community. This is aimed at ensuring inclusive finance and access to finance by benefiting refugees.
